"To travel is to live"
|
Three months earlier, I was sitting in the classroom where I had been student-teaching since January. I was going over lesson plans for the following day when I opened up my email. As I glanced through 20 unread subject lines, my eyes stopped on the one that read "Fulbright" and "Congratulations." As I clicked on the email, my stomach took its cue and immediately began doing somersaults.
Three months later, I was sitting in my room in Maine, doing my best to swallow all of my apprehensions as I prepared to board a plane for Indonesia. While I was nervous about the unknown, I was excited to meet the new place that I would soon call home. |
