About
The simplistic version - My name is Riley, and I am a 22 year old college graduate (Wheaton, MA) with a license to teach English 5th-12th grade. As of July 22nd (happy birthday, Mom!!), I moved to Indonesia to teach English through the Fulbright scholarship program.
The slightly more complicated version - While I was born in Bar Harbor, Maine, home to me is so much more than just this one place. To me, home is where the stories and laughs are rooted. Home is Montana where I spent the early years of my childhood playing make-believe and riding my scooter along the sidewalks as our dog, Paddy, pulled me to my mom's work. Home is the two weeks I spent in Guatemala that, while short, introduced me to the love of travel and pushed me to continue exploring. Home is the months I spent in Spain, along with the surrounding countries I visited during my time abroad. Home is my sweet college (Wheaton, MA) where I laughed, cried, and learned more about myself and the world than I thought was possible. The list of homes that I now keep in the notes section of my phone continues to grow and with that, the connections and friendships I have made grow as well. The next stop, or current home, is Indonesia. For the next year, I will explore the country and immerse myself in the culture while being an ETA through the Fulbright scholarship program.
